Skyzoo dropped this interesting perspective album, The Mind of a Saint, on January 13th and we haven’t looked back since. He tells a story from the perspective of Franklin Saint, a teenage convenience store worker that becomes a major drug dealer in the South Central Area. What sets this album apart from others of the sort is that Saint is actually a character from the TV show Snowfall. We have never seen the show, but the idea of taking an already existing fictional character and writing an entire album through their perspective is something we definitely have not seen before. It allows for Saint to have a deeper background and feel like a fully realized person. The result is an album full of stories and complex emotions that immerses the listener into this Los Angeles setting and doesn’t let them leave until the curtain falls.
